As Southwark’s Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), CAS is well placed to provide advice and support to charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, faith groups, individuals and active residents working and living in the borough.  For instance, through our policy and representation mechanisms you’ll be able to influence local government agendas and translate them into real benefits for your local communities and service users.  Additionally, we can support you in identifying and implementing initiatives to ensure the long-term sustainability of your organisation and also work with you to develop the communities in which you reside.

Networking, Representation and Collaboration

Along with running a number of events throughout  the year, we also facilitate several forums aimed at providing our members with a platform to get their voices heard  by influencing government policies, both locally and regionally.   In addition, members are able to network with other like minded organisations to identify areas of joint working, collaborate on live documents, and receive policy briefings through our innovative online collaboration tool.

Support and Advice

CAS members benefit from receiving one-to-one support , advice and information from one of our specialist teams.  Our professional teams are experienced in providing support in areas of policy research and development, sustainability, premises management, and community development.  Also, members will receive best practice advice on organisational development issues.

Receive Timely and Accessible Information

As a CAS member, you will receive timely and accessible information through our quarterly newsletter Cascade, and our monthly e-bulletins.   Both have a readership in the thousands  and contain a lively mix  of local and national  news,  training information, jobs and funding opportunities, and local event listings.  Information can be supplied in different formats and languages.  Along with receiving this information, members enjoy a discounted advertising rate to promote their services to the wider sector and raise awareness about new projects.
