Trustees Week is an annual event where the charity sector celebrates the great work of the volunteers who run charities all over England and Wales.
It is also an opportunity to highlight the excellent work of trustees, to support boards to improve governance and encourage new people to consider trusteeship and volunteering opportunities.
What is a Trustee?
Trustees are volunteers who take on ultimate legal, strategic and oversight responsibility for an organisation’s work. They play a vital leadership role in any charity.

At Community Southwark, we can offer a range of advice, support and information to help future Trustees to find suitable roles, and organisations to find the right Trustees.
We provide training and support to help Trustees to be clear about their responsibilities, and develop the skills to do this – including (amongst others) how to manage finances, undertake business planning, or fundraise for essential resources.
