The next meeting of the Forum for Equalities and Human Rights will be on Monday 11th December between 10am and 1.30pm, at Blackfriars Settlement, 1 rushworth Street, London SE1 0RB.
The meeting will start with networking refreshments, and will end with a networking lunch.
The main part of the meeting will include the following approximate timings:
- 10am Review of Forum themes, activities and priorities for 2018
- 11am Councillors Maisie Anderson and Jonhson Situ to speak and answer questions on the Southwark Conversation, for which they are the Cabinet Leads
- 12pm Kevin Fenton, Director of Public Health, who is one of the Directors leading on the Southwark Conversation, to speak and answer questions on the Southwark Conversation
- 12.45pm Networking lunch
Please feel free to attend, even if you have not been to one of these meetings before. Also, if you personally are unable to come, please consider whether anyone else from your agency or network may usefully attend. The Forum is an opportunity to engage on behalf of the individuals and communities that you and your organisations work with on equality and human rights related issues in order to improve social cohesion and quality of life for all, and to promote and protect citizenship rights and responsibilities.
This meeting will be an excellent opportunity to hear, provide feedback and question elected members and senior Council officers on regeneration plans for the borough, and to engage in the consultation currently taking place. The Council is keen to find out from local people what is working and what isn’t working for them and its “Southwark Conversation” provides an opportunity to say how things are for you and your communities, suggest areas for improvement or how things could be done differently.
