Hopscotch’s new BBO project 'Women at the Centre' is funded by Big Lottery and European Social Fund (ESF), set up to assist women from 16-65+ from BAME backgrounds (specifically Pakistani, Bangladeshi, South Asian (excluding Indian), Arab, Black African (including Somali), Chinese and Gypsy or Irish Travellers.
Alongside their partners Refugee Women’s Association, Women at the Centre work with individuals living in the following boroughs: Hopscotch: Camden, City of London, Southwark, Wandsworth, Kensington & Chelsea and Lambeth, RWA: Lewisham, Westminster & Islington.
The programme is free and provides access to ESOL classes leading to qualifications in Health & Social Care, Retail and Catering and hospitality. A mobile crèche can also be provided (free of charge) along with 100% IAG support from our professional projects’ Employment Advisors.
Women will go through a structured journey of individualised support to develop, gain skills and improve their self- confidence in order to ensure they are comfortable and integrated well within the society the live in. This is a great opportunity to empower women that are marginalised and hard to reach.
If groups or organisations have a minimum of ten service users who would be interested and have the venue and crèche facility, the programme could be delivered at your premises.
