Southwark Carers are members of the Big Energy Saving Network, a programme created by The Department of Energy and Climate Change, and National Energy Action.
This is a programme of training, support and grant funding for eligible third sector organisations to deliver an extensive programme of outreach to vulnerable consumers, focussed on helping them reduce their energy costs through assisted action on tariffs, switching and the take up of energy efficiency offers.
There is considerable evidence that vulnerable consumers are often among those most disengaged from the energy market and lack the confidence necessary to save money by taking action on tariffs, switching and improving energy efficiency. Southwark Carers are offering free training to frontline workers who have contact with vulnerable adults to help them understand their fuel bills and what support is available to them.
The training covers 5 key elements - payment and tariff options, switching, warm home discounts, priority service registers and signposting.
Southwark Carers can provide training at their offices or your place of work, handouts with full information are provided, and they are available to provide ongoing support any workers we work with.
If you are interested in training for your staff or volunteers who work directly with service users please call Southwark Carers on 020 7708 4497 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss.
