Resources
We have developed a number of resources aimed at supporting you to reach your potential and providing you with the information required to help you make better decisions:
Cascade Newsletter
One of several CAS communications mechanisms, Cascade is our lively quarterly newsletter packed with local news, policy briefings, training information, jobs and funding opportunities. Cascade is disseminated to our members and has a readership of 1600 organisations including voluntary and community sector groups, statutory contacts, local community centres, schools and libraries.
E-bulletins
Another of the mechanisms that we use to disseminate timely and relevant information to Southwark’s voluntary and community sector. Our e-bulletins are packed with local news, training information and funding opportunities. The e-bulletins are disseminated, by e-mail, on a monthly basis to approximately 1000 CAS members.
Info Sheets
Our info sheets have been developed internally by the CAS team to provide you with best practice advice and guidance on a range of issues relating to stetting up an organisation; organisational and community development; completing funding applications; getting the most from your management committees/trustee boards; finding and managing your premises effectively. Contact us for more information.
Toolkits
Our toolkits have been developed by CAS’s experienced Capacity Building Team to identify and address some of the fundamental needs of Southwark-based voluntary and community sector organisations.
Policy Briefings
Our Policy Briefings offer a simple way to keep abreast of the ever changing climate of our sector. They have been developed by our Policy and Participation Team to demystify and summarise important parts of central and local government policy legislation and/or changes that may affect Southwark’s voluntary and community sector.
Venue Southwark
Venue Southwark is a database of rooms and facilities in Southwark, which are available for hire. This database provides voluntary and community sector organisations in Southwark the opportunity to promote their venues and facilities for hire in order to generate additional income. The database can be searched by organisational name, postcode, facilities available, room capacity or number of rooms available.
My Learning Source
CAS is currently working in partnership with Southwark Council to bring learning and development opportunities to the community and voluntary sector. The most expansive resource available is www.mylearningsource.co.uk . As a member of CAS and as part of the Voluntary and Community sector, you are able to sign-up to the site to access all of the learning and development opportunities offered through Southwark Council, some of which are FREE.
