Cyber Safe Southwark: How to be a digitally savvy organisation

Only 14% of charities believe they are well-protected against cyber-attacks & data breaches (Third Sector Magazine Dec 2016). and the Information Commissioners Office has reported a 21% increase in data security incidents in the charity sector.
You can find out more about protecting sensitive data and much more during a free cyber security workshop at Community Southwark, aimed at all shapes and sizes of organisation this workshop to help you get the digital world in order.
Funded by Big Lottery Fund, the session will inform attendees of the requirements of the current and future Data Protection legislation, and discuss practical controls which charities should have in place.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to book 1:1 data security surgeries with the trainer to have an expert look at your systems!
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anyone who:
• Trustees/Management Committee members of non-profit organisations
• Senior members of staff who wish to understand more about Cyber Security
• Staff members, volunteers etc. with responsibility for technology and cyber security
11am - 1pm: workshop covering legal and good practice aspects of staying safe online, data protection rules, protecting your organisation from hackers, viruses etc.
1-2pm: lunch and informal discussion
2-3pm: group activities on practical solutions plus time to book 1:1 appointments with the trainer to look in-depthat your organisation.
Lunch is not provided for this course. Ideally, please bring a sandwich or something with you so that we can chat during this time.
