

Alison is a Development Officer at Community Southwark. She supports voluntary sector groups with advice around governance, funding and other organisational issues such as strategic planning and financial management. Alison can offer advice and support by phone, e-mail or one to one appointments at Community Southwark’ monthly sustainability surgeries and also develops resources and Community Southwark's bulletins for groups.
A local resident, volunteer and community activist for very many years, Alison will be supporting local community sector organisations through networks and partnerships.

Amelia joined the team as Volunteer Services Officer in September 2017 to look after our Volunteer Advice Service. Our Volunteer Service provides free advice for anyone looking to volunteer in Southwark. Details of when these operate and how to book a 1:1 session can be found here.

Andrea supports the internal function of the Community Southwark including governance, finance, HR and membership. Her role is to manage the day-to-day office administration and outsourced services to support the smooth running of Community Southwark.

She is now delighted to be joining the HWS team and looks forward to renewing existing connections and making many new contacts across the borough.

Catherine started at Healthwatch Southwark in September 2015 as Research and Intelligence Officer and became Manager in April 2018. She hopes to draw on this experience across our activities, particularly in distilling information from our engagement and influencing commissioners.

As the Development Officer at Community Waltham Forest, Chris supports voluntary and community groups with governance, funding and financial management (and lots more besides). Chris can offer advice and support by phone, e-mail or at a one to one session.

Clare joined Community Southwark as Programme Coordinator in November 2013. Her role involves providing support to the Development, Policy, Operations and Healthwatch teams by developing internal systems, overseeing events and training and bringing volunteer time and expertise to various projects. She also supports the team at Southwark Council and their fulfilment partners to deliver the Southwark Emergency Support Scheme.

Conor is an expert facilitator and coordinator of our corporate volunteering programme. He designs and leads projects in charities and community groups for teams of professionals from large corporates, helping them to step outside of their comfort zone and accomplish things they didn't believe they were capable of achieving. Conor is also a psychologist and coach, and a counsellor in training.

As a Volunteering Services Officer, Diana's role is to support groups across the Borough with their Volunteer Programmes and all aspects of best practise in Volunteer Management, through 1-2-1 support, training and development of resources. Diana comes with a breadth of experience across the sector.

Helen is Head of Southwark Giving. Helen’s role is to develop and lead this new giving partnership for the borough of Southwark.
Prior to joining Community Southwark Helen worked in philanthropy and corporate responsibility in the City Square Mile and Canary Wharf. Helen’s professional experience also includes influencing social policy in central government and for charities.

Jo's role is to support Community Southwark with communicating the work that they do to support the voluntary and community sector in Southwark. Jo works with the team in developing our monthly ebulletin, Community Southwark’s website and social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube.

Katy joined Community Southwark in November 2018. She will be leading on the volunteering strategy and good practice work here as well as overseeing the development of our advice service. Katy has over 8 years experience in the voluntary sector from living overseas being a volunteer herself, to managinginternational volunteers and projects to running a volunteer programme for a medical charity.

Nathan previously worked in the Social Action Team at Community Southwark, identifying and developing relationships with seldom heard and refugee communities, and to ensure that people have the support and information needed to become more active in their communities.
He now brings his experience of working in a plethora of healthcare settings to Healthwatch.

Paul Rymer joins Community Southwark from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, where he led the organisation’s Public Involvement, Volunteering and Physical Activity programmes. Paul has worked in the charity sector for 15 years, primarily in public engagement and involvement, plus supporting people with sensory impairments and life limiting conditions to build confidence and have improved mental and physical wellbeing. In his spare time Paul enjoys researching family history, is interested in Egyptology and is involved in music as a writer, blogger, promoter and occasional DJ.

Rachel joined Community Southwark in October 2018. She oversees the work of the development team and the Involve Corporate Volunteering team and works strategically with the public and private sector to ensure voluntary and community groups in Southwark and Waltham Forest are provided with effective support. She previously worked for the CVS in Lewisham and has experience working with older people, refugees and survivors of trafficking

Rosa started working jointly at Healthwatch Southwark and Healthwatch Lambeth in September 2018. Having previously worked as a Community Development worker within the voluntary Sector in SE London and a Resident Engagement Manager within Housing in North London, Rosa is excited to apply her skills and experience working with both Healthwatches as Partnership Coordinator.

Steve joined Community Southwark in April 2016 as Partnerships and Policy Officer. His role will be to establish thematic voluntary and community sector groups to support the sector to build connections, identify emerging needs and develop responsive and influential models of representation for the sector. Prior to joining Community Southwark Steve spent many years in policy roles in Charities and in central government.

Zuwena supports the Communications Co-ordinator in sharing the work Community Southwark and Healthwatch Southwark do within the sector. She works with both teams to create marketing materials, films, monthly ebulletins, and maintain websites and social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.
