Meet the volunteer advice team

Amelia Maguire - Volunteer Services Officer

Amelia joined the team as Volunteer Services Officer in September 2017 to look after our Volunteer Advice Service. Our Volunteer Service provides free advice for anyone looking to volunteer in Southwark. Details of when these operate and how to book a 1:1 session can be found here.

Carolyn Bell - Volunteer Advisor

Carolyn started volunteering with Community Southwark at the end of 2015. She helps people who come for 1:1 appointments to find volunteering that interests them. Carolyn finds it very enjoyable to meet so many interesting people who are wanting to volunteer and make a difference in Southwark. She has lived in Southwark for many years and worked in the voluntary and statutory organisations. If you come for a volunteer advice appointment on a Tuesday Carolyn will be very pleased to help you.

Angela Simpson - Volunteer Advisor

Angela joined us in December 2018. She helps people who come in for a 1:1 appointment on Thursday mornings find suitable volunteering roles. Angela is a local resident in the North of the borough and enjoys engaging with people from all walks of life.

Spenta Amalsad - Follow-up Volunteer Administrator and Outreach Volunteer

Spenta has been volunteering with Community Southwark since December 2018. She calls up clients who have previously had a volunteering advice appointment with us and asks questions to find out whether they are now volunteering and what their experiences have been.

Spenta also helps out at some of our volunteering outreach stalls at various locations across the borough e.g. libraries and community events – so if you see her out and about do say hi!
