Community Support Worker role

Southwark irish Pensioners Project (SIPP) is looking for a Community Support Worker. They are looking for an enthusiastic person whose main purpose will be to visit isolated and/or vulnerable elderly  people at home, provide them with advice and information on welfare benefits, health and social services and housing services and to advocate for clients to access appropriate services.

You will work within a small team, learning in-house, from the team and also attending various training courses as required.

This role is part time - 3 days (21 hours) a week with an initial 6 month contract. Salary £12,000 to £14,000 depending on age/experience

SIPP is a small charity, established in 1994, providing drop-in day services and community support services to elderly people in south London, mostly Southwark, Lambeth and Lewisham.
We are largely funded by the Irish Government along with smaller grants from various Trusts and Charities.
